YouTube is arguably one of the most revolutionary digital platforms to debut in the early years of the 21st century. Prior to the advent of YouTube, sharing videos on the internet was a difficult and often a misguided process. In 2005, three former PayPal employees changed the game when it came to online video sharing and the web has never been the same.
Two years after the creation of YouTube, Sotheby’s International Realty started its own channel. Since then, our brand’s YouTube channel has grown to 120,843 subscribers and counting. In doing so, our brand became the first and only real estate company channel to have more than 100,000 subscribers. Along with leading the industry’s presence on YouTube, Sotheby’s International Realty joins an elite group. Out of 50 million channels on the platform, only 0.1 percent have reached 100,000 subscribers.
In honor of this historic achievement YouTube has bestowed Sotheby’s International Realty with its Silver Creator Award. Only issued to those who reach this level of success by means of true organic growth, these accolades would not have been possible without the commitment to produce high quality video from our affiliated companies around the world.
With more than 43 million views to date, the brand is on pace to reach 1 million subscribers by 2022.
