People from all over are joining forces to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Saturday’s massive Earthquake in Nepal. The devastation is horrific, with homes, villages and the country’s rugged landscape destroyed in the storm’s fierce wake. According to recent reports, the death toll has now reached over 3,600 people, in addition to more than 6,500 injuries. The scene is described as desperate, with medical personnel treating the injured on the streets as a result of overflowing hospital facilities. Thousands remain displaced from their homes with no food, clothing and shelter, searching for any aid and support available.
Our company has already jump-started contributing to such needs with a recently established program in which agents, staff and any other generous individual can donate to victims by supporting the disaster relief efforts of humanitarian organization AmeriCares. This non-profit group, known for aiding survivors of natural disasters and victims of extreme poverty around the world, is already hard at work in the impact zone of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake, where they have stationed an emergency response team and continue to deliver medical aid and relief supplies to the people of Nepal.
Now you can be a part of these efforts—help us reach our goal by donating to our company fund, which directly benefits AmeriCares and their need for resources to deliver the best relief services possible. Our company plans to match all contributions up to $15,000.
“We have met disaster relief goals in the past, and I am confident we will again,” said President and CEO Paul Breunich, who has organized our company’s commendable efforts. “Each gift contributed by our generous donors will be directly given to AmeriCares, ensuring that the organization’s crisis services will be quick and effective. I am already proud of the amount we have raised, and hope all will continue to join us in our efforts to provide for the people of Nepal.”
For quite some time now, we have been a dedicated supporter of AmeriCares, previously partnering up with the organization in efforts to support impoverished areas of Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, as well as its work to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy and the Philippines typhoon. This time, let’s make our partnership stronger than ever!
