Firm exceeds fundraising goal for the Great Estates and Exotic Cars Tour to benefit SOAR, Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM
Lakeville, Conn. (November 25, 2015) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that the company recently partnered with Lakeville, Connecticut’s members-only, high-end autos club, Lime Rock Drivers Club, and Salisbury Bank to host a benefit for three local charities including SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM. The event, a great estates and exotic cars tour, raised a total of $7,500.
Following the tour, which visited four multi-million dollar estates and a selection of luxurious, privately owned cars, participants enjoyed a reception with food, wine and a silent auction. This, in addition to the day’s $50 admission ticket, gathered the majority of the event’s raised funds.
All proceeds were donated to SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM. SOAR, standing for “Seek, Originate, Aspire, Reach,” is an educational enrichment program for Salisbury, Conn.’s Central School, providing extra-curricular learning opportunities to students through after-school workshops exposing them to subjects such as music, art, fitness, math, engineering, cooking and science, all taught by local experts. The Susan B. Anthony Project offers crisis services and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault including counseling and a crisis hotline. VIM, or “Volunteers in Medicine,” is a group of dedicated health care professionals who provide services for eligible, uninsured residents of the Berkshire region. The nonprofit organization offers general medical care, as well as dental, optometry, psychiatry, nutritional counseling and more.
“We were thrilled with the outcome of this brand new event,” said Kristine Newell, regional manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Litchfield Hills and Berkshires brokerages. “It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to be able to view private luxury estates and collectible automobiles, all while supporting three exceptional local charities that do so much for our community. We were proud to sponsor the tour, and thank everyone who attended, helping us to reach our fundraising goals.”
