Tri-State Sotheby’s International Realty Agents to Hold Quarterly Networking Meeting at Darien’s ‘Smith House’ This Week

Darien, Connecticut (November 13, 2018) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that members of the Metro Co-Broke Group, a co-operative collective of top agents from Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates in the Tri-State area, will hold their next quarterly meeting at “The Smith House” in Darien on Wednesday, November 14. Located at 16 Shennamere Road, the Smith House was designed by architect Richard Meier.

The Metro Co-Broke Group consists of Sotheby’s International Realty agents from Fairfield County, Conn., Westchester CountyManhattan, and the Hamptons, N.Y., Hoboken and Williamsburg, N.J., and Cape Cod, Mass. The Metro-Co Broke Group has been meeting quarterly for 10 years at distinctive properties within the Tri-State area to share market insights and strategies. Topics of discussion also include emerging trends in real estate that impact the agents’ respective markets.

The last meeting of the Metro Co-Broke Group was at 26 Pequot Lane, a 12,385 square-foot brick estate in New Canaan. Previous locations for the quarterly meeting have included a $78 million, tri-level penthouse in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, well-known clothing designer Alexander Julian’s estate in Ridgefield, Conn. and the Ritz Carlton Residences in Long Island, N.Y.

Listed with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Darien agents Doug Werner and Linda Malpass, the Smith House is a winner of the American Institute of Architects’ prestigious Twenty-Five Year award. This honor is given to properties that have stood the test of time for 25-35 years, and have set standards for architectural design and significance.  Built on a rocky bluff and sited to incorporate the natural light that frames the views of sea and sky, the home features a private beach and sandy cove, and is located within the Tokeneke Association.

“I am so honored that the Metro Co-Broke Group chose this iconic property as the location for its next meeting,” said Werner. “The Metro Co-Broke Group is just another example of the strength of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand and the vast networking opportunities that are available to our agents. The Smith House’s exceptional location will be a fantastic backdrop for the group’s quarterly meeting on Wednesday.”
