Melissa Riley Named Brokerage Manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty in New Canaan

New Canaan, Conn. (March 14, 2022) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Melissa Riley will assume the role of Brokerage Manager for the firm’s New Canaan brokerage. Riley brings to the position nearly four decades of leadership and executive experience in Connecticut and New York real estate.

Riley began her real estate career fresh out of college and never looked back. She has held a wide variety of roles in nearly every facet of the industry and is thrilled to bring her growth-oriented leadership approach and focus on agent development to William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty.

“This new role is the culmination of my career,” Riley said. “I admire the way the company has grown throughout the years to become a leader and the preeminent high-end luxury brand. I’m excited to work with successful, client-focused agents in New Canaan and be aligned with a company that is a cultural fit for me.”

Throughout her career, Riley’s focus on agent development and business coaching have fed her passion for helping agents realize their highest potential. “I have a penchant for helping agents increase their performance through coaching, mentoring and accountability—and do it in a way that honors the whole person.” she said.

Riley’s many industry experiences include a decade spent at William Raveis Real Estate, where she worked on company acquisitions in Litchfield County, led the firm’s Stamford office, and grew the relocation and internet divisions at their corporate headquarters. As a brokerage manager at Prudential, Riley boosted the Fairfield office to the company’s number-two branch in a short time, then spent several years as regional senior vice president. She led the firm’s rebranding to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, which was the first in the country. With Keller Williams Realty, Riley helped expand their northern Westchester County, New York, office and opened their Dutchess County office. Recently, she was the expansion director and business coach for one of the most successful teams in Connecticut.

“I have known Melissa Riley and watched her successful career with great interest for more than 30 years. I’m thrilled to finally be able to welcome her to William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty,” said Paul Breunich, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “I know our agents as well as our clients in the New Canaan area will greatly benefit from her expertise and exceptional leadership.”

Riley, who lives in Ridgefield with her husband, has been a Fairfield County resident for decades. Three years ago, she started the Ridgefield Women’s Entrepreneur Group to coach female business owners and build all facets of their businesses. A prolific walker, Riley is currently preparing for a 200-mile pilgrimage across northern Spain, known as the Camino de Santiago, an iconic route that culminates at the historic Santiago de Compostela cathedral.
