Thank you, Stephen Schoenfeld for finding us a home in the Berkshires, actually two homes.

 

Having spent 20 plus years with second homes on Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod, we decided in the middle of COVID to go west to the Berkshires, a place we had visited often for Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow and teaching our kids how to ski at Butternut.

 

We were fortunate to be introduced to Stephen Schoenfeld who took us under his excellent guidance and offered his encouragement of “Don’t worry I’ll find you a house.” Our original goal was to find a home in Lenox, but listings were few and nothing to our liking.  So, we cast our net wider and Stephen came through with a lovely house in Great Barrington that just came on the market. We were the first to view it and made an offer on the spot. Not only did he find us a home, but he introduced us to service people, restaurants, places to walk our standard poodle and more. 

 

After three years in Great Barrington, we kept an eye on MLS listings in Lenox and Stephen always made time available to have us view homes that we thought might be our next destination. Stephen suggested we consider a condo that was unfinished but available in a lovely neighborhood. If we put a deposit on the condo, could he sell our house in GB? Again, it was “Don’t worry, I’ll sell your house.”  So, with our confidence and trust in Stephen, we moved forward. He came through and sold our GB house and we now enjoy our wonderful new home in Lenox.

My husband and I purchased a home in Egremont for which Stephen was the broker and we ended up using him as the buyer's representative as well. I thought he managed the somewhat complicated process of representing both the seller and us incredibly well, and always felt that he kept our best interests in mind (while still getting a more than fair price for the seller). There were a couple of times in the transaction where I mentioned something in passing that I needed in connection with the sale. When I went back a month later to remind Stephen, it turned out it was already taken care of! Stephen is low key and not pushy, but also very effective.
