Shawn Flaherty is a new Real Estate Advisor for William Pitt Sotheby’s. He was born and raised in Williamstown, MA. Shawn is currently working in the Physical Education Department for Mount Greylock Regional High School. In addition to working in PE, he spent most of his career as a Special Education Paraprofessional. Shawn will be entering his 26th year at the school. He has been honored by the students of Mount Greylock as recipient of the ‘Staff of the Year Award’ in 2021 and 2023. Shawn was also the football coach at the high school; he coached for 25 years.
Shawn went into education because of his mother, Frances Flaherty who taught 4th grade and 8th grade history in the North Adams public schools for 33 years. In 1999, Frances won ‘Teacher of the Year Award’. Since retirement, for the past 18 years she has been a docent at The Francine and Sterling Clark Art Museum in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Shawn’s father John (Jack) Flaherty had a 33-year career in the Massachusetts State Police. While an extremely difficult and challenging job, he did have some impressive opportunities having executive details protecting former President George W.H. Bush, President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and former Israel Prime Minister Shimon Peres. Teamwork, integrity, determination and an unmatched work ethic characterize Shawn. Shawn achieved great success as a coach- 3 state
championships, WBEC 2012 Coach of the Year, 2013 Frank Zoltek Passion for Coaching Award, and the longest win streak in Berkshire County football history (33 Games). Shawn is eager to leverage the experiences and attributes that brought him success in the classroom and on the football field to you. Shawn looks forward to meeting new clients and helping them fulfill their real estate needs.
