It’s unique and like no other region in the state and yet it’s still a stone’s throw away from New York City. We can only be talking about one spectacular area, Litchfield County.
We are proud to announce that the firm was involved in the record sale of a 5,801 square-foot lakefront home in Winchester, Conn. – the highest sale in town in over eight years. The property was listed by Litchfield agents Christine and Sue Doyle and was sold by Christine Doyle for $3,540,000. The firm has also announced the sale of a country estate in Litchfield, which was listed by Litchfield County agents Ron Leal and Kim D’Andrea for $1,850,000.
The two transactions come after William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty was No. 1 in sold dollar volume for 2018 according to the SmartMLS. The Winchester property, located at 554 West Wakefield Boulevard, is a six bedroom, four full and three half bath residence on 1.71 acres on Highland Lake. Built on an Island, the home is surrounded by water and the house takes advantage of the views with private porches and many windows. Once known as “Club island” in the 1920’s, the home is designed in a rustic camp style reminiscent of the Great Adirondack Camps of the Gilded Age in American Architecture. Every detail of this fine home was thoughtfully executed right down to the artful creation of the posts and beams from Lake Placid. The lower level walk out features a 36X60 ft. game room, a wet bar, theater and wine cellar. Other amenities include a six burner Wolfe range in the custom kitchen with a commercial style ventilation system and a massive two story stone fireplace in the living room.
The Litchfield property, located at 276 North Lake Street, includes a main house and guest house that’s fully equipped with a kitchen, fireplace, new roof and central air conditioning. Additional amenities include a heated gunite pool and pool house, a spacious patio and an elevator in the main house.
“Our office is proud to have represented these unparalleled properties, and we are thrilled to have achieved a record sale in Winchester,” said Kristine Newell, regional brokerage manager in Litchfield County. “We look forward to continuing to deliver our valued clients excellent customer service in 2019.”
