As the year slowly begins to wind down, it’s time to look back and recognize some of our company’s most outstanding achievements, including record breaking sales. From the shores of Connecticut’s beautiful coast to coveted neighborhoods throughout Westchester County, N.Y., here are four residential sales achieved by our dedicated team of sales associates that are worthy of applause.
Stephen Glennon of our Madison, Conn., brokerage represented the buyer in the highest sale in ten years for Guilford, Conn. The contemporary Colonial waterfront home sold for a record price of $5,200,000, marking the highest sale in town since 2006. Located at 270 Old Quarry Road, the property contains 1.4 acres of direct waterfront land with a private beach, dock and several outdoor spaces and amenities overlooking the Long Island Sound.
Not far away in Branford, Conn., Madison agent Tony Nuzzo represented all parties in the highest combined sale in nearly a decade for the Thimble Islands, an archipelago comprised of small islands in the Long Island Sound. The three lots together represent the single largest combined parcel sold since the record-breaking Rogers Island sale in 2003, and were purchased for a total of $2,700,000, marking the highest sale in the Thimble Islands since 2007. Located at 1, 3 and 4 Bear Island, the recently sold properties encompass a total of 5.1 acres of waterfront land. 1 Bear Island includes a 1930 bungalow in a serene setting, overlooking coastal sunset views. Lot 3 contains a contemporary deck house and antique guest cottage, which was purchased from Yale University, and moved from its original location on Branford’s Horse Island. The final property, located at 4 Bear Island, is an approved building lot, offering 1.7 acres of scenic views.
An abundance of positive activity has also been occurring in Westchester County. 11 Riverview Place, a Colonial Revival Victorian home that sold for a record price of $1,935,000, marked the highest sale in over a year for Hastings-on-Hudson. The HCH Team, comprised of sales agents Beth Hargraves, Maria Carlino and Bernadette Haley of our Irvington, N.Y. brokerage, represented the noteworthy property. Originally built in 1899, the residence boasts a recent renovation complete with several high quality features throughout its gracious rooms, as well as carefully restored period details.
Last but not least, over in Rye, N.Y., 2 Sunset Lane sold for a record-breaking $9,000,000—the highest non-waterfront sale in the town this year so far. The magnificent oasis was listed with and sold by Rye agent Loretta Rapisardi, who explains that the buyer was from South America, and came upon the home through our website. Surrounded by rolling lawns, immaculately manicured formal gardens and a profusion of flowering shrubs, this spectacular 1909 estate is located on the grounds of the historic Apawamis Country Club. The classic Tudor has been restored and enhanced, offering elegant formal rooms and casual spaces for everyday living.
