Ours may be a global economy, but it takes a local to really know a neighborhood. Todd Gould and his forefathers have been mainstays in the Connecticut shoreline real estate market for many decades. He's lived in Madison now Guilford his entire life, and has held no other career than real estate.
It just doesn't get more local than that.
Earning his sales license in 1978 and broker license three years later, Todd took over the Gould Agency, started in 1934 by his grandfather, from his father, making substantial strides as the company's broker/manager for the next 27 years.
Merging with William Pitt Sotheby's International in 2007, Todd brought with him his impeccable reputation, unparalleled knowledge, and the unrivaled customer service ethic that has always forged his success.
With years of experience have come a mouthful of designations (CRB, CRS, ABR, SRES, GRI & CDPE) and plenty of professional involvements, including Todd's past leadership roles as a director of CAR, a director of the Shoreline Association of Realtors, chairman of the Multiple Listing Service. "The more we can learn, the better we are able to serve others," says Todd, who has always believed in staying abreast of the market and advancements in his field.
Most fulfilling about his illustrious career besides his accolades and achievements has been the opportunity to help people - agents and clients alike - and to forge strong relationships both in his industry, and his community.
"I've always said, 'my business is your home.' It's my job to really explain how the real estate process works, and to educate clients so they're armed with knowledge.
I may not always tell people what they want to hear, but am always forthcoming with what they need to know so they can make the right decisions."
When it comes to the Connecticut water area, Todd is extremely well connected, and highly knowledgeable of the history, neighborhoods, properties, beach associations and other items of importance for anyone looking to buy or sell a home. While his love for the water initially inspired his interest in marine biology, his course of study at Southampton College, Todd is grateful for the real estate career path he ultimately chose and has enjoyed for so many years.
He and his wife Louise, who schooled their two now-grown daughters in the Madison School System, spend lots of time outdoors hiking, kayaking and biking when time and weather allow.
"There's so much to do in this beautiful place we live, and I'm happy to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others."
