"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." Abraham Lincoln
Words of wisdom that were drilled into me by my father as a child and beyond. They have served me well throughout my life both as a civilian and in the military. I have travelled extensively while serving in the US Army in the eighties right out of high school and again starting in 2001.
After working in the aerospace and defense industry for twenty years in between, I again found myself readying to jump from seven hundred feet above ground level from an aircraft I'd only heard of hours earlier after attending a jump refresher course that seemed just a bit too brief. It was not that I questioned my equipment nor the instructions of my jumpmaster but rather the durability of my much older body. I am happy to report that I was able to walk away from that landing and many others thereafter.
My last military assignment was as an instructor at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center where I taught and mentored many newly assigned enlisted soldiers and officers prior to deployments into harms way. This was by far the most rewarding position I have ever filled and I take solace in knowing that this will be my legacy. The most important point I would make in my teachings was to stress " Pay attention to detail. "
This, I practice on a daily basis and is a mindset that is invaluable within my real estate dealings with the myriad of details involved in both the buying and selling of a home. I bring my can do attitude and never ending energy to every business relationship from start to finish.
