I was born and raised in Springfield, MA the oldest of 4 kids. Joining the U.S. Navy after high school I received orders to a class “A” school at the Naval Communication Training Center in Pensacola, Florida. There I developed communications and computer skills, which later came in very useful in sales and contract negotiations. After 4 years of service, both in Europe and at the National Security Agency, (NSA) Fort Meade, Maryland, I leveraged the GI Bill to further my education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I earned a BA in Language while minoring in Business/Marketing.
My business career began in the pharmaceutical industry with Beecham Labs, which eventual transformed into GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. I spent over 30 years at GSK in sales and contract negotiations with hospital systems and managed care organizations. I left pharmaceuticals as Senior Corporate Account Executive with many high achievements and honors in President’s Clubs and Winner’s Circle Awards, which were highlighted by trips to Hawaii, Europe and various U.S. Resorts. The skills and abilities I learned in my sales and negotiating experience have been instrumental in my last few years as a REALTOR® negotiating on behalf of our clients.
While at UMass I met my wonderful bride of over 40 years, Judy. Together we raised our family of 3 wonderful children Michelle, Joe and Sue in Old Saybrook. We have lived in this beautiful community for more than 32 years and our children are all successful graduates of the Old Saybrook School System. My pastime is spent enjoying time with my family including my wife, children and 5 (yes five) grandsons ages 3 to 11.
We enjoy traveling together, cooking (particularly with grill and Smoker) as well as golf, gardening and attending the Karate and sports events that my grandsons compete in. With memberships in the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce and the ROTARY Club we are current about what is happening in the community. We look forward to meeting and helping new friends and old alike.
