Linda Darer

Licensed Real Estate Salesperson

Spend five minutes with Linda Darer and you’re sure to find that your life is enriched. Her care, dedication and zestfulness is immediate and infectious. It is this effervescent nurturing and gentle demeanor that makes her such a perfect fit as a licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Mrs. Darer brings her extensive experience of working with both buyers and sellers to each client interaction. Over her many years of service Linda has cultivated long lasting and deeply trusting relationships with her clients. As a resident of Westchester since 1979 with deep ties to the community and the neighbors in it, she has unparalleled knowledge of Rye, Harrison/Purchase, Rye Brook, Port Chester and White Plains. Her clients’ listings have included some of the most lovely properties throughout lower Westchester County with some of the most compelling stories - something that she relishes most.

Linda’s philosophy is a simple one: “Family, trust and value are the core of my business. As a native New Yorker, I am committed to providing exceptional service on behalf of my clients, and for me that means always being honest. I don’t sugar-coat anything. If it’s going to work, it’s going to work. I will always offer my honest, informed opinion - it’s what my clients deserve: a person who is forever in their corner, who will work tirelessly on behalf of them and their family— which, if I do my job just right, I like to think includes me, once the immediate needs are met.”

Mrs. Darer attended the University of Buffalo and obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College. She met her husband while working as a psychiatric social worker at Metropolitan Hospital. A native of Venezuela, he was an intern at the time.

A true citizen of the planet, and in keeping with a love of wanderlust, her social work career included a private practice in Caracas where she lived for one year before moving to Rye. She also has a large contingent of family in Toronto, Ontario — adding to her diverse cultural fabric.

It is this background in social work that ultimately lay the ground work for her career in real estate: leveraging her ability to listen, understand, problem solve, provide insight, and ultimately solutions. She has been a full time agent since 1986 and takes pride in being available and enthusiastic about meeting client needs. She always takes the time to answer questions, familiarize you with the market, and guide you through the closing process. One of her great joys is bringing buyers and sellers to the closing table while making the experience a rewarding one. Her love for helping people, combined with her penchant for organization translate perfectly into the client experience.

Since making the move from the hectic pace of city living to the tranquil environs of Westchester County, she has raised two children and has become a local expert in not only the schools, services, and marketplace of Westchester, but the lifestyle as well. “I love to work with people relocating because it means I get to share my love of this remarkable area. Every time I get to introduce someone to these enchanting towns, it’s like I’m doing it for the first time. And because I believe so passionately in Westchester, I have assembled an expansive network to contribute to local businesses and provide my clients with recommendations to help them live their best life - from attorneys to caterers, babysitters to pet sitters.”

Linda has had the benefit of watching clients evolve over the years and while technology has changed, and market demands might fluctuate, her commitment and the way she conducts business is largely unwavering. It is this consistency that has led both buyers and sellers to return to work with her over and over again.

Her proven track record of success has led to training and development for her fellow agents as well. She is a frequent guest and facilitator of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty’s training center, The Imagine Lab® .

Linda enjoys cooking, entertaining and volunteering, serving as a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors (Westchester Chapter), as well as My Sisters’ Place in Westchester. She formerly served as a board member for her synagogue (Temple Israel Center) and on the boards of The Rumsey Hall School in Washington, CT and The Solomon Schechter School of Westchester. She is also a former alumni/parent interviewer for The George Washington University.

When she’s not immersed in real estate, she can be found exploring all things local and appreciating her surroundings - especially the solicitude of Westchester’s shoreline and beaches.
