A Taste of Rye

Looking for a way to give back?  Our company is proud to announce our first joint venture with My Sisters’ Place, a Westchester County organization that fights domestic violence by supporting victims while providing community education and working toward social change.  On Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 3-6pm, we will host a special “A Taste of Rye” restaurant crawl in order to raise funds for the local cause.

A number of quality Rye restaurants will join us in giving back by graciously offering wine, beer or soda as well as an appetizer specially prepared by the chef to each individual.  Purchase of a ticket allows participants to “sip, snack and stroll,” gaining them one drink and one appetizer at each of six restaurants featured on the tasting tour, including Ruby’s Oyster Bar, Morgan’s Fish House, Encore, Town Dock, Rye Bar & Grill and Fogama.

We are currently selling tickets to the event for $50, and will match each ticket purchased up to a total of $7,500. Additional funds will be raised through a company-held silent auction, featuring items donated from local merchants including four premium tickets to a New York Giants game. All money raised will go directly to My Sisters’ Place in support of its efforts to end domestic violence.

Since 1976, My Sisters’ Place has worked to end violence in intimate relationships and provide support for those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking on women, men and children throughout all of Westchester County.  With very small beginnings, the local organization is now a top resource in the area, expanding its offerings to accommodate the changing times, and providing dependable advocacy, shelter, legal services and even educational opportunities, as well as an overall guide to prevention.  Their mission is to bring each member of society together with one common cause in mind—to end domestic violence and embrace the respect, equality and peacefulness of a healthy relationship.

“I am so proud to support My Sisters’ Place, a vital organization that works to effect important social change in our community,” said Rye brokerage manager Pati Holmes. “I am also tremendously grateful that such an excellent selection of Rye restaurants has decided to open their doors and join us in this worthwhile cause.”

Tickets can be purchased online at atasteofrye.com, and exchanged for a wristband at the company’s Rye brokerage located at 49 Purchase Street, between Starbuck’s and Ruby’s Oyster Bar, on Friday, September 19 or Saturday, September 20 between 9am and 5pm.

We hope to see you all there!
