Old Lyme, Conn. (February 10, 2022) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Heather Gagnon, manager of the firm’s Old Lyme, Niantic and Mystic, Conn., brokerages, has been named the company’s 2021 Manager of the Year. Gagnon was chosen from among 17 brokerage managers for the honor, winning the award for the second consecutive year.
With 20 years of expertise in real estate, Gagnon took over the position of Brokerage Manager in Old Lyme in March 2020, and notably won Manager of the Year in her first year in that position. Since that time, she has grown the office by attracting top talent in New London County, including some of the highest producing agents by dollar volume county-wide. In addition, Gagnon was instrumental last year in driving significant growth in New London County by helping William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty add two new brokerages in the region. In May 2021, the firm opened a new, highly visible office location in Niantic, and in October 2021, a merger with boutique real estate firm Arruda Real Estate brought the firm a new office in Mystic. Gagnon now manages all three of the firm’s New London County brokerages.
Agents in the brokerages Gagnon leads were responsible for some of the region’s most notable listings in 2021. These included the $12.6 million Stonington estate of the late tenor Sergio Franchi and the $6.6 million sale of a home in the prestigious Old Black Point neighborhood, which set a record for the highest-ever residential sale in East Lyme and was the highest sale in all of New London County in more than two and a half years.
“I am proud to announce Heather Gagnon as our Manager of the Year, an honor well deserved for the second year in a row,” said Paul Breunich, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. “Her skillful approach to disciplines such as training, coaching, business development and social media has enabled her to offer unparalleled support to her agents, helping them in turn to provide the highest level of service to buyers and sellers, as well as target high net-worth clients.”
As part of her proactive management approach, Gagnon picks a “word of the year” on which to focus her efforts—and gauge her results. Last year’s word was forward, she said, and “move forward is what we did: up the Shoreline into Niantic and Mystic with two new offices.” This year, she noted, her word is contribute. “I look forward to contributing to my agents, my family and my community,” Gagnon said.
Gagnon owns a real estate school in Connecticut that focuses on educating future real estate professionals throughout the state. She is also involved with Little Pink Houses of Hope, a North Carolina-based nonprofit organization that provides breast cancer patients and their families with free, week-long retreats in desirable locations. “This year they’ve selected our beautiful New London County Shoreline area, and as their representative, I am looking for homeowners to donate their homes for the September retreat,” said Gagnon.
