Modern-day Southampton treasures its history and natural resources and was rated as having the nation’s best tap water by the National Rural Water Association.

Southampton takes its natural resources, and its farmlands, seriously, and among its main attractions are a variety of family-owned farms and vineyards. An active Agriculture Commission has the task of promoting, preserving, revitalizing and sustaining Southampton’s agriculture-based economic opportunities and encouraging the pursuit of agriculture for generations to come.
