William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty Team Up with New Story and World Housing for ‘Agents of Change’ Program

Initiative Aims to Build 21 Homes Annually for Families in Need

Stamford, Conn. (December 5, 2018) — William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty today announced the firm has partnered with New Story, a 501c3 non-profit charity, and World Housing for “Agents of Change,” a program created to enable the company’s agents to make a social impact in the developing world. The new initiative will allow agents to either make a one-time contribution or recurring monthly donation to help build homes for families abroad who are living in poor conditions and slums.

William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty is the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand’s first East Coast affiliate, and second overall, to participate in the program. To date, the company has already raised enough money to fund the building of ten new homes.

New Story has been building communities in countries including Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador and Bolivia by working with local partners to transform slums into safe, life-changing communities. The “Agents of Change” program will specifically focus on rebuilding efforts in Morelos, Mexico, a state that was devastated by the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Mexico City in 2017. The earthquake caused over 240 deaths throughout central Mexico and damaged 184,000 households.

Each new home through “Agents of Change” costs approximately $6,500 and is given to a family in need to impact their lives for generations to come. New Story has created an innovative and more transparent model than the traditional charitable giving experience. Operation costs that the charity might incur are paid for through a separate group of investors, meaning every dollar given to New Story through donations goes directly to building homes.

Through this unique partnership the firm has the opportunity to build not just a home for those in need, but also a community.

“On a daily basis, we see the importance of home ownership in our clients’ lives all over the world,” said Paul Breunich, President and CEO of William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. “We feel everyone should have that security and sense of peace, and now through ‘Agents of Change’ we can help build homes for families living in dangerous conditions. By rallying together, our company can create an incredible legacy of hope and transformation around the world for years to come.”
