Berkshire County, Mass. (April 30, 2018) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that the firm is currently No. 1 in dollar volume and in sales over $1 million or more, according to FlexMLS. The firm was involved in the highest residential sales of 2017 in five towns throughout Berkshire County. The record sales were achieved in Chesterfield, Lenox, Richmond, Tyringham and Washington.
The highest sale in Lenox was listed and sold by Dan Alden, Nick Geranios and Jared Kelly, a classic Berkshire cottage on nearly 13 acres at 151 Walker Street, selling for $3,575,000. “When clients think of luxury real estate, they think of Sotheby’s International Realty,” said Alden. “They are confident in our knowledge and experience serving others in this unique area of the country. This special home in Lenox is an example of this sentiment.”
In Tyringham, Mass., Great Barrington and Lenox agent Gladys Montgomery listed the highest sale in town at 2 Brace Road. The home was a turn of the century Berkshire estate that resided on 114 acres, and sold for $2,100,000. “Our industry-leading marketing department was able to present this property in the best way possible to attract a buyer,” Montgomery said. “Furthermore, our exclusive marketing partnerships with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and more guarantee our clients the broadest possible exposure for their homes.”
Additional record sales in 2017 included the $1,144,750 sale of 91 North Road in Chesterfield, which was represented by George Cain; the $1,100,000 sale of 238 Rossiter Rd in Richmond, which was listed by Marc Bachman; and the $365,000 sale of 171 Schulz Rd in Washington, which was listed with Stephanie McNair.
This year has already been a successful year in the Berkshires for the firm as well. Several new condominium offerings at the luxury spa and wellness resort Canyon Ranch in Lenox, listed exclusively with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, sold in the first quarter of 2018. At this time there are still multiple one and two-bedroom units available.
“We are humbled to have had such a large part of the market share in Berkshire County in 2017,” said Kristine Newell, brokerage manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Berkshire County brokerages. “We will continue to service our clients’ real estate needs in 2018 by leveraging our brand’s phenomenal global marketing and our highly talented team of agents. Our region is a desirable marketplace, highly sought after for its tranquil setting and breathtaking views.”
