William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Westport Listing Honored With Home Building Industry (HOBI) Award

Westport, Conn. (October 11, 2017) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that 5 Ridgewood Lane, a property listed by Westport agent Susan Vanech, was the recipient of a 2017 Home Building Industry (HOBI) award. The three-level house was the recognized as the “Overall Best Spec. Rebuild for 2017.”

The HOBI Awards are Connecticut’s most prestigious housing industry program, acknowledging distinction in new construction, land development, remodeling, sales and marketing, and home financing. A panel of HOBI judges with expertise in home building select the winners each year by reviewing applications submitted by Home Builders Association (HBA) members. In addition, the judges travel the state for several days, touring selected homes and neighborhoods before making final decisions.

Rebuilt from the foundation up, this home features modern industrial details that counter balance the sensibility of its layout and flow, making it perfect for gathering and entertaining. Secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Old Hill section of town, the house resides on nearly two-thirds of an acre of land with custom finishes from modern light fixtures to reclaimed and re-purposed materials. Outside, the front porch overlooks the front lawn and end of the cul-de-sac.

The property, which is offered for $1,699,000, was the also the site of a recent art show featuring the work of local artists supported by the Westport Art Center under the supervision of Trace Burroughs. A dozen artists showcased their video installations in the 4,800 square-foot home, donating 30 percent of their sales to the local non-profit organization Tiny Miracles Foundation, which supports families with premature babies.

“I am truly proud to represent a home that looks and feels like no other,” said Vanech. “The modern industrial aesthetic and attention to detail is unmatched. Receiving a distinguished award such as the HOBI completes the honor.”

The builders of this distinguished home, Tiago Building Group will be officially honored at the annual HOBI Awards Dinner on November 15th, 2017 in Southington, Conn.
