Where there is a vast array of housing options, there is typically a vast amount of life. Economic development means more opportunity, and for the city of New Rochelle, N.Y., a quintessential project that will provide residents with a classic living experience combined with great luxury and convenience. Named “The Lombardi,” the transit-oriented, mixed-use downtown building initiative contains 2,550 square feet of ground floor retail space as well as eight one-bedroom and 40 two-bedroom residential units. The brand-new, exclusive spaces are listed for rent with Larchmont agent Lisa Sangster, starting at $2,750 per month.
A grand opening event on North Avenue was recently held to welcome the new development, and honor New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, Developer Ralph Rossi of RMA Development, LLC, the City of New Rochelle, the New Rochelle IDA, and the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), a leading nonprofit affordable housing and community revitalization finance company that utilizes housing as a key to transforming underserved neighborhoods into thriving and vibrant communities. Sangster, along with other prominent individuals, attended the exciting ribbon-cutting event, which offered tours and a reception and saw a tremendous amount of local support. “The Lombardi is not just an outstanding addition to New Rochelle’s menu of housing options; it also represents the future of the North Avenue corridor and of our transit area as a whole,” said Mayor Bramson. “I congratulate the development team on this great accomplishment and look forward to celebrating the further positive transformation of this key portion of our city.”
In a recent Journal News article, owner and developer Rossi praises the city’s revitalization efforts. “The city has clearly been working with developers over the years on zoning that has made good development economically feasible.” And this is only just the beginning. Proposed plans for additional growth will continue in New Rochelle’s town center including the construction of new restaurants, hotels, stores and supplementary residential units.
The Lombardi masterfully fuses distinct European-style craftsmanship with today’s modern conveniences and luxuries. Exuding a suburban charm and urban sophistication all in one, the spacious rentals present residents with a vacation-like atmosphere, and feature high ceilings, oversized windows, gourmet kitchens with beautiful custom cabinetry and top-notch appliances, walk-in closets and more. The units are also energy-efficient, boasting LED lighting and environmental systems to ensure low utility costs. Residents additionally have access to a gated entry parking garage, storage pods, a secure package room, virtual doorman service and even an onsite dog park.
“New Rochelle has become the ideal location for those who commute to New York City and enjoy the conveniences of city living while retaining the hometown feel of a sprawling suburb,” commented Sangster. “The Lombardi has it all. Not only is it nearby to waterfront parks, award-winning schools, golf courses, yacht clubs and other community offerings, but it also affords unbeatable living accommodations in a rapidly growing and beautiful environment—a true masterpiece in the heart of New Rochelle.”
