Great Estates and Exotic Cars

Prepare to be chauffeured on a tour of pure luxury at the upcoming Great Estates and Exotic Cars charity event in Lakeville, CT. We are proud to announce our partnership with Salisbury Bank and Lime Rock Drivers Club, a Lakeville-based exclusive members-only club that caters to racing and driving enthusiasts with a passion for high end cars, to serve as host of the tour. The event, which was organized to directly benefit three local organizations including SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM, will be held on the morning of Sunday, October 18, 2015, with admissions at both 10am and 11am.

All attendees will begin the tour at one of the oldest road racing courses in the country, known as Lime Rock Park. From here, participants will travel through both the Litchfield Hills and
Berkshire County to view four multi-million dollar featured estates amid a glorious backdrop of New England’s vibrant fall foliage. At each stop, a selection of luxurious cars will also be on display for all to appreciate while enjoying light refreshments. More opportunities to socialize and indulge in delicious food and fine wine will be available at the reception, which includes a silent auction to be held immediately after the tour. Lime Rock president Skip Barber will be the honorary chairperson for the event.

Any car aficionado will be spoiled for choice with the significant selection of unique cars set to be part of the tour. A 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, known to be an extremely rare car inspired by Motorama car shows, and a 1958 Mercedes 300SL Roadster, first introduced at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, are just two automobile highlights of the day. One of the properties on the tour, Sugar Hill Farm, has a long association with vintage cars, as its owner, the founder of the New York City auction house Guernsey’s, is a longtime car collector and even held the first-ever auction devoted exclusively to sports and racing cars. This property in particular will showcase an original 1933 Rolls Royce 20/25 Shooting Brake, one of only 12 believed to have ever been created; a 1964 Ferrari 330GT, said to have been Enzo Ferrari’s favorite creation; and a 1948 MGTC, one of the first competitors in the Bridgehampton Road Races.

All proceeds from both the auction and ticket sales will go to SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM. SOAR, which stands for “Seek, Originate, Aspire, Reach,” is a local program that offers educational enrichment for children of Salisbury, Connecticut’s Central School. Through this organization, local experts provide students with extra-curricular learning opportunities with after-school workshops that focus on various subjects such as music, art, fitness, math, engineering, cooking and science. The Susan B. Anthony Project serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with comforting and helpful crisis services including counseling and a hotline number. VIM, or “Volunteers in Medicine,” comprises a group of dedicated health care professionals who cater to eligible, uninsured residents of the Berkshire Region. The non-profit offers general medical care, dental services, optometry, psychiatry, nutritional counseling and more.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view private luxury estates, see one of a kind collectible automobiles, and enjoy great food and friends, all while benefiting the community,” said Kristine Newell, manager of our Litchfield Hills and Berkshires brokerages. “In short, it is a dream event with something for everyone. This is a rare experience, and we are thrilled to be sponsoring it.”
